of Ahkun Tupa
Juhani Jomppanen was the first samish tourism businesman
in the Inari community. He started his business by bringing the tourist
in his NUOLI-boats from Sikovuono to Lemmenjoki and at the Lake Inari
to the Ukonkivi since 1946. After he got married in 1955 with Kirsti,
she became the first finish wife to a samish man in the Lemmenjoki village.
After that, they continued developing the tourism business together,
in which Kirsti's good languageskills were a great help. Juhani Jomppanen
was a pioneer in tourism both in Finland and abroad.
There are some historical photos, of their colorfull life, in restaurant
